Traditionally, the York region has been home to some of the most productive cereal cropping country in the wheatbelt and is a common hub for its local rural community offering shopping, education, and commercial outlets all of which can be appreciated within the antique attractions and historical landscapes the region has to offer.
About:
Our client, a multi-generational farming company, owns and operates farming country within the wheatbelt region including York, Meckering, and Northam. As a respectable end-to-end intensive cropping operation, machinery is modern and well maintained as are implements and property infrastructure in general. A fleet consisting of CASE, New Holland and John Deere including headers, spray rigs and all hay bailing equipment is used in addition to road trains. On an annual basis, silage harvest begins in September leading the way for the busy hay season then straight into wheat harvest which generally winds up at Christmas time. Sheep are also run on the property with minimal work being associated with the herd at this time.

Accommodation can be provided and will be discussed according to personal requirements. During peak seasons (such as seeding, hay and harvest), a cook is on staff who will provide lunch & dinner to the crew. Operating a CASE tractor with 60ft air seeder, the successful candidate will be required to present with prior experience operating large agricultural machinery and have the capabilities to step straight into this role using Trimble GPS technology.

Looking for work through cotton picking season? Contractor requires a truck driver ASAP!
A position now exists for a truck driver to commence work with our client, a cropping contractor located in southern Queensland but with work commencing at Condobolin, New South Wales. Currently, cotton picking is kicking off in the Central Western region and a Truck Driver is required to operate our client’s Western Star 4800 or Freightliner Argosy, both pulling 45ft flat tops.
Work will consist of carting cotton bales out of the paddock to the gin and will be approximately a 300 kilometre round trip each time. An MC licence is essential and must be produced by any short-listed candidate with an online driving history to be produced on request of our client.
The hourly rate is to be discussed with our client upon interview. Hours will depend on the gin operating times however could be 7am to 6pm and work will be required 6 days per week. The successful candidate will sleep in the truck and ultimately be a self-sufficient driver.

Join the team on this cropping property in Northwest NSW for 2024 planting season!
A casual position now exists for a Cook to join a planting crew commencing immediately and running through until mid-June 2024. The position is located on our client’s dryland cropping property located on the Kamilaroi Highway between Walgett and Narrabri, northwestern New South Wales.
The Cook will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering meals for up to 20 people (this number can vary). At times, breakfasts will be required however smoko and lunch will be prepared for the staff to collect at the beginning of their shift & take with them and an evening meal would either be taken to the paddock or eaten in the lunchroom area.
This position is best suited to a traveller looking for short term work & someone that has cooking experience in a similar environment. A caravan can be accommodated for and utilise power & water during the term of planting, alternatively single accommodation could be provided. If the Cook is travelling with a partner, a possibility of some light farm duties could exist depending on experience and by negotiation with our client.
The daily remuneration rate will ultimately be negotiated depending on experience with no set hours in place.
